Frequently Asked Questions
Is it possible for the surrounding tissue to be injured by the laser?
The surrounding tissue remains unaffected by laser treatment because the laser and the ultra-short light impulses only affect the color pigments. After treatment, it is possible for the treated area to turn red or swell. However, with the right after-care, these symptoms disappear after a short time.
Are there any costs for the counseling interview or the trial treatment?
No, the counseling interview and the trial treatment are free of charge. They are service features at Pure & Beautiful®.
Do I have to assume the risk of scarring after the treatment?
No, the treatment with our YAG-laser is gentle on the skin and does not leave any scars. But it is important that the lasered area gets the right after-care. Therefore, you get special care instructions and tips how you can treat the lasered area correctly and well.
Does the age of the tattoo play an important role in tattoo removal?
The age of the tattoo is not important for its removal. It is, however, possible that older tattoos are embedded deeper in the skin. Therefore, it can take a bit longer until the tattoo is removed completely.
How does a tattoo removal work with the YAG-laser at Pure & Beautiful®?
The embedded color pigments will be treated with ultra-short light impulses, which cause the color particles to be destroyed and fall apart into tiny pieces. Your body will recognize them as foreign bodies and remove them through your lymphatic system. The surrounding tissue stays unaffected and undamaged. This type of tattoo removal is the most gentle and effective available today.
How long does one session last?
Depending on the size of the tattoo, one session lasts between 10 and 20 minutes.
How long does the skin need to regenerate?
Between sessions, there should be a period of 4 to 6 weeks. This way, the skin gets enough time to recover and heal. During this time, the lymphatic system removes the color using the body's natural healing process.
How many laser treatments are necessary for a tattoo removal?
In order to remove a tattoo completely, several sessions are necessary. Normally it takes 6 to 12 sessions for tattoo removal. The colors used, the kind and depth of pigmentation, the quality and size of the tattoo, as well as the responsiveness of the body’s immune system to remove the color particles have great influence on the length of treatment. After each treatment the tattoo lightens more and more until it is removed completely.
How old must a tattoo be to remove it?
The tattoo must be at least 30 days old.
How safe is the treatment with the YAG-laser?
If you decide to receive treatment with the YAG-laser at Pure & Beautiful®, you have chosen a safe and modern laser technology. This technology offers optimal protection because the laser only hits the color pigments and the surrounding tissue cannot be injured.
Is it also possible to remove colored tattoos?
With our YAG-Laser, the specialists at Pure & Beautiful® can remove almost every tattoo. Dark tattoos are most easily removed. Light colors are not so easily removed. We will evaluate this during the counseling interview and upon seeing the tattoo.
Is the laser treatment painful?
The treatment is almost painless. However, everyone has a different response to pain and sensitivity to pain receptors. It also depends on the part of the body that is treated.
What do I have to pay attention to after a laser treatment session?
It is important that you do not scratch the lasered area. If blisters or scab develop, do not remove them. Up to 12 weeks after treatment the lasered area is still sensitive to the sun. Therefore, a sunscreen with a sun protection factor of 50 + should be used. And you should avoid the tanning booth.
What do I have to take care of before a laser treatment?
When starting with laser treatment, your skin should not be suntanned. Before a treatment you should not take blood thinning medication like Aspirin, acetylsalicylic acid, or the like. In case you are pregnant, the specialists at Pure & Beautiful® advise against laser treatment.
What expenses do I have to count on for a laser treatment?
At Pure & Beautiful® the expenses depend on the size and density of your tattoo. Since each tattoo, each permanent make-up, and the number of age marks are always different and unique, it is not possible to give a lump sum. When you come for your free consultation, we can screen your tattoo or permanent make-up and can give you a reliable, authorized quote.
What has to be considered for removal of permanent make-up?
When starting laser treatment for the removal of permanent make-up, your skin should not be suntanned. Before a treatment you should also not take blood thinning medication like Aspirin, acetylsalicylic acid, or the like.
